Who is Yaadi Strong?

We’re a mutual-aid collective building immediate and lasting mental health support for Hurricane Melissa survivors.

Now:

• Day camps for children in Jamaica’s hilly interior, using play and art as therapy

• One-on-one counseling for adults processing trauma

• Yoga and somatic healing to release what words cannot

• Sensory toy distribution for continued healing at home

Next:

• Training teachers and community leaders in psychological first aid

• Establishing permanent mental health resources in affected parishes

• Creating the infrastructure Jamaica has always needed

This house sheltered my pregnant mother, five siblings, and Uncle Creation before Hurricane Gilbert left them without shelter shortly before my birth. This is where Yaadi Strong truly began.
